Lucky Horseshoe

This post brought to you by paul reiffer - photographer. All opinions are 100% mine.

Every photographer dreams of capturing the perfect shot and even professional photographers acknowledge that in addition to skill, it takes a bit of luck as well.   For photographer, Paul Reiffer, one such capture occured at Horseshoe Bend, Arizona.

While Horseshoe Bend's nat, ural river canyon has been frequently photographed, it is still overlooked by many who visit the Grand Canyon which is just 80 miles to the south.  Even photographers of Antelope Canyon, in Page, Arizona often miss out on the opportunity, although Horeshoe Bend is just next door. Mr. Reiffer's photo, which was a winner of the UK's Great Outdoors competition and used in Intercontinental Hotels Group promotions, has also been featured in numerous newspapers and magazines, including The Metro,The Guardian, The Daily Mail and The Times.

As interesting as the photo itself, is Reiffer's tale of it's capture.  You can read his account and see the shot at his site:

Would you like to try capturing Horeshoe Bend yourself?  Could you do it with your iPhone?   Reffer provides the answers along with some great tips on capturing a Horseshoe Bend photo.  He even provides some travel tips.
You don't have to be a photographer, however, to enjoy this breathtaking picture of Horseshoe Bend.  Visit Reiffer's site to order a copy of this award-winning shot.  It's available in a variety of sizes.  Imagine enjoying the beauty of Horseshoe Bend from your own home every day.  No luck required!
